To have and to hold

As I am finishing up some wedding related items, and fishing through files and files of wedding porn, I came across this picture that just reminds me of one other detail of the wedding that I am so looking forward to. The ring bearer.

I'm not here to talk about the ring bearer himself, although he will be Joe's little brother name Mike. He is the exact replica of Joe when he was little, so I've been told, even though they only share a dad.

But what I'm proud of is what the ring bearer will bear that will bear our rings. I never did like the look of ring pillows. I think there is something very stuffy about it. Then, upon further research, I found Paloma's nests on Etsy.

You can certain customize these to fit your needs, to say "To have and to hold" or whatever your heart desires. Somehow though, it still did not appeal to me, until I saw this:
[not sure where I found these, let me know if it's yours so I can give you credit]
So, I ordered one, in the exact colors as the above. The outside is painted pink and the inside is blue. I think Mike will look absolutely adorable walking down the aisle with this fitting snuggly against his hands. For the size, they're a little small for a normal adult hand, but I think they will fit perfectly in a kid's hand. Mike will be 8 years old by the time our wedding comes around. What's great about these is that they can be a keepsake for years to come. I can't wait!
